Imoshen Yakisugi Trivet

Description

In collaboration with Imoshen Studio, the new Yakisugi Trivet uses a traditional Japanese wood-charring method known as Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban in North America. Preserving the cedar wood and imparting a stunning black color, the wood becomes water and fire-resistant.

Dating back to the Edo period in Japan, yakisugi was used to protect wooden structures and homes. Now, this beautiful tradition has been turned into a stylish trivet that can be used to protect surfaces from hot mugs, plates, and candles, or kept out permanently as a statement piece.

To remove dust, use a soft dusting cloth. Please note that due to the nature of the wood, this product may warp if exposed to excessive moisture or improperly maintained. Although it is water-resistant, be sure to promptly wipe up any spills; not dishwasher safe, do not submerge in water, hand-wash with a damp cloth and mild soap when necessary, drying immediately and thoroughly.
